How do you play EraPin?

EraPin shows you a historical Wikipedia photograph along with a clue about the event. You drop a pin on a world map to guess the location, and use the year slider to guess when it happened. You score up to 2,500 points for location accuracy and 2,500 for year accuracy. A new event is published every day.

EraPin focuses specifically on significant historical events rather than random photos. Each round includes a written clue about the event, an era hint, Street View of the modern city, and a Wikipedia link after you guess. It is designed to be educational as well as entertaining.

How is scoring calculated in EraPin?

Each round is worth up to 5,000 points: 2,500 for location (how close your map pin is to the actual place) and 2,500 for year (how close your guess is to the actual year). Using hints deducts points. You play 5 rounds per day for a maximum of 25,000.
