HOW ERAPIN WORKS

Students see a historical event with a description, image, and era clue. They reason their way to the answer — combining absolute location (specific named places) with relative location (position relative to neighbouring features) to place the event on a world map, then date it on the timeline. They win through reasoning, not recall: the students who struggle with memorization can win on deduction. Closer guess means more points. Variable session length — pick 5, 8, 10 or 15 events, or choose exactly the ones you want, sized to the time you have.

You shouldn't have to fact-check a warm-up. Before any event reaches your classroom it goes through an automated accuracy pass — location, date, image, and description are cross-checked, and anything that doesn't hold up is corrected or pulled.

And every clue is written to a hard rule: it must give at least two real geographic anchors a student can reason from — "where the Andes meet the Pacific, near the equator" — it can never name the country or city, and it can't use words a student can't act on. If answering requires already knowing the event, the clue fails and gets rewritten.
